Tattoo Aftercare.

Congratulations! You pulled the trigger. Now here’s what you do next.

It’s essential to follow proper aftercare for all your tattoo procedures. You just made a huge investment, so let’s make sure you protect it.

A few important things to note; buckle up for an emotional rollercoaster, it’s gonna get weird. The healing process is strange. Your tattooed area will gradually begin to get darker as the pigment oxidizes. Soon after, the area will begin to scab, eventually beginning to flake. The flaking varies from person to person so just trust the process and remember to never pick at the scabs.
Once the scabbing ends, the tattooed area will look like theres almost no pigment there. Don’t panic. No, you didn’t reject it. Yes, this is normal. Over the next few weeks, the pigment will gradually start getting darker. If this was your first session, you will most likely only retain 50%-70% of your color, which is why a second session is required. If this was your second session and you still see slight imperfections, this can also happen for various reasons and you are TOTALLY allowed to contact your artist. It’s why we’re here.
You were given aftercare instructions at the end of your session along with a packet of ZENSA HEALING CREAM. For more specific aftercare following that week, please refer to that card or contact your artist if you lost it (hey, it happens).
